New York Empire Trio is May 2009 Featured Artist at Obama Music Arts and Entertainment
The New York Empire Trio has been named May 2009 Featured Artist by Obama Music Arts and Entertainment. This is in honor of the Trio’s recent World Premiere performance at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall of Fanfare for Obama - a new work created by Bulgarian composer Roumi Petrova in honor of the historic election of President Barack Obama.Reviewer Christopher Kaufman wrote of the piece, “… Fanfare was true to its dedication, positive uplifting themes, heroic melodies and pulsating rhythms all unifying to express a hopeful message. It is a short bright and happy piece and gave the performers an opportunity to demonstrate another facet of their musicianship.”
