2010 Contemporary AmericanFest (Boston Metro Opera)

BOSTON METRO OPERA is still seeking scores of vocal, choral, and operatic works for the 1st Annual Contemporary Americanafest - a gala celebration devoted entirely to contemporary opera and vocal music. Works selected will receive a performance in April of 2010. Guidelines for submission are listed below.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.) Composers may enter one work per genre (vocal, choral, opera)
2.) Those works selected will receive a performance in April of 2010.
3.) Scores and other materials should be submitted online at http://www.bostonmetroopera.com/composer-registration.html or by mail (unbound) to:

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

Vocal Works

Duration:
No longer than 25 mins.

Scoring:
Voice and piano (required)
Up to 1 additional instrument

Applicants should submit
by January 1, 2010 (POSTMARKED):
2 copies of the score
Recording (if available)
Program Notes
Performance history (if applicable)
Resume, Bio, Headshot


Choral Works

Duration:
No longer than 10 mins.

Scoring:
SATB, SSAA, or TTBB
With or without piano

Applicants should submit
by January 1, 2010 (POSTMARKED):
4 copies of the score
Recording (if available)
Program Notes
Performance history (if applicable)
Resume, Bio, Headshot


Operatic Works

Duration:
Under 1 hour

Scoring:
Up to 5 roles (any voice types)
No chorus
With piano accompaniment

Applicants should submit
by October 15, 2009 (RECEIVED):
2 copies of the piano/vocal score
Recording (if available)
Synopsis of the Work
Program Notes
Performance history (if applicable)
Resume, Bio, Headshot
